I feel lucky everyday that I have the privilege of working with adults, families, and young people as they navigate life’s ups and downs—teaching, listening, and truly doing my best to hear what they have to say. My career serving families began over 20 years ago, as a law student and young attorney, where I volunteered as a court appointed special advocate supporting vulnerable children in the legal system. In this role, I saw firsthand how the children who were able to utilize calming tools and coping skills had the best outcomes, regardless of their difficult circumstances. That experience led me to look outside of law where I could have a greater impact supporting children to develop the tools they need to grow into content and fulfilled adults and to help parents support their children’s growth.
Over the years, my practice has grown to include couples, parents, and families, particularly those experiencing a high degree of conflict. I have found that regardless of age, supporting people with cognitive restructuring tools, mindfulness, and good old fashioned listening can be both life affirming and life changing for many. I love diving into the heart of the issue with my clients and supporting them through the often difficult conversations and feelings that can surface on the way to healing.
I am a licensed clinical social worker with specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (for couples and families), mindfulness interventions, and Co-Parent Counseling and mediation. Additionally, I am a trained Court Involved Therapist and Forensic Social Worker.
